Uganda’s Sand Cranes have named an 18-player squad for the second spherical of the Seaside Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Senegal 2026 qualifiers.
Co-coaches Akabwai Geofrey and Byaruhanga Rica chosen 17 gamers from the Seaside Soccer League and one from the Secondary Faculty League for the qualifying marketing campaign.
Uganda acquired a bye within the first spherical and can enter the competitors on the second-round stage, with the qualifying ties scheduled for October.
The primary-leg matches can be performed between October 9 and 11, whereas the second leg is scheduled for October 16 to 18.
The chosen gamers are anticipated to report back to a residential coaching camp at Bunjako Seaside in Buwama, Mpigi District, on Thursday, September 24, the place preparations for the qualifiers will start.
The squad contains three goalkeepers, 12 midfielders and three forwards from the Seaside Soccer League, alongside one participant from the secondary faculty competitors.

Secondary Faculty League: Mugisha Jonathan (Normal Excessive Faculty Zana).
Akabwai and Byaruhanga can be assisted by Lukooya Baker, with Ssebaggala Tonny serving as group supervisor. Dr Kulika Ivan is the group physician, whereas Mutebi Julius has been appointed media officer.
The residential camp at Bunjako Seaside will mark the beginning of Uganda’s preparations for the second spherical of the continental qualifiers.
The qualifiers will decide the groups that advance to the Seaside Soccer AFCON finals in Senegal in 2026.
