The Child Victoria Pearls stored their ICC U19 Ladies’s T20 World Cup semifinal qualification hopes alive with a 5 wicket win over Tanzania on Monday to make for Day one loss towards Nigeria.

Tanzania-W U19 received the toss and requested Uganda to bowl first an oppoturnity Uganda captalized on, bowling Tanzania out for simply 41 in 16.1 overs, with Mischelle Ariago, Tino Sarah and Sheirah Namagoba taking two wickets every.
Tanzania struggled from the beginning, dropping 4 wickets for eight runs. Mwanaiddi Athumani high scored with seven, whereas Joan Jackson made 9 and Sabrina Salim added eight.
Uganda’s chase was not simple both, the Pearls slipped to 12 for 5 earlier than Joan Ilora and Irene Mutonyi settled the innings.
Ilora stayed unbeaten on 14 off 14 balls, whereas Mutonyi completed on 9 not out as Uganda reached 42 in 9.1 overs.
They now face Malawi on Wednesday in a should win group match. A victory shall be essential if the Child Victoria Pearls are to succeed in the semi finals and preserve their World Cup qualification dream alive.
