The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has flagged off Employees Uganda on Thursday at Mestil Resort for the Commonwealth Video video games due in Glasgow, Scotland.
Uganda will most likely be represented by 55 athletes along with 5 para athletes from eigh federations, 34 of these are female and 21 male athletes.
The Glasgow video video games are to begin on twenty third July and climax on 2nd August 2026. Employees Uganda will depart to Glasgow on twenty first July.
“Symbolize the nation correctly because of you might be carrying the nationwide flag in the marketplace in Scotland. Go and win us medals to make us proud.” Nabbanja stated on the flag-off ceremony in Kampala.
State Minister for Sports activities actions Peter Ogwang affirmed that the federal authorities will reward every medal winner with cash prize.
“We could have 55 athletes representing the nation and that i’m optimistic we are going to win medals. To the athletes heading to Glasgow merely know the federal authorities will reward Shs100m for every gold, Shs50M for silver and Shs30m for bronze.” Ogwang said.

Uganda will most likely be represented by 55 athletes competing in athletics, judo, swimming, para swimming, netball, observe biking, weightlifting, boxing and women’s 3×3 basketball.
On the 2022 model that was held in Birmingham, Uganda collected 5 medals with 4 coming from Athletics.
Victor Kiplangat turned the first ever Ugandan to a win a commonwealth marathon, whereas Jacob Kiplimo surged to a double gold over the (10,000m and 5000m). Peruth Chemuta managed bronze inside the 3000m steeplechase.
The alternative medal was collected by Uganda’s first ever female Commonwealth video video games boxer Teddy Nakimuli, who claimed bronze on the sooner video video games.
